And the crowd goes wild ...War Memorial Stadium chooses FLEX360

March 11, 2009

With ongoing renovations and a new marketing strategy, Little Rock's historic War Memorial Stadium has partnered with FLEX360 on a new Web site.

Scheduled to go live in just a couple of months, War Memorial Stadium's new site will be at www.wmstadium.com. It will be the new face of the historic venue, as supporters begin marketing the stadium as more than just a venue for Razorback football.

War Memorial Stadium - Little Rock, ArkansasThe 53,700-seat stadium was built in 1948 to honor Arkansas veterans who lost their lives in World War I and II. It has since become the home away from home for the Arkansas Razorback football team, who play two games a year there, and its home field for Little Rock Catholic High School for Boys' Rockets football team.

But it's also known for hosting other events, including concerts. The Rolling Stones played War Memorial in 1994. Elton John and Billy Joel brought their dueling piano act to the stadium in 1995. The Eagles drifted through in 1995 as well on their "Hell Freezes Over" tour. You can read a complete history of the stadium here.

Over the past five years, War Memorial Stadium has undergone more than $8 million in renovations and additions with more on the way, including an overhauled press box. Additional fund-raising efforts will be announced soon.

War Memorial Stadium Commissioners include chairman Gary Smith, Brenda Scisson, Kevin Crass, Donald Cook and Nancy Monroe, all of Little Rock; Charlie Holt of Stuttgart; Perry Henley of Hope; and Dorance Damron of Fort Smith.   Commissioners are appointed by the governor and serve seven-year terms. Charlie Staggs is War Memorial Stadium's general manager, and Jake Hatley is its director of marketing.

Needless to say, we're looking forward to working this project and giving the amazing history of this unique venue its proper due.
