FLEX360 Director Brent Birch Selected for Leadership Greater Little Rock

September 10, 2009

Brent Birch, the chief information officer for Arkansas Business Publishing Group and director of FLEX360 Web development firm of Little Rock, has been selected to participate in Leadership Greater Little Rock's Year XXV class.

The Little Rock Regional Chamber of Commerce oversees the program, designed to develop effective leaders by enhancing their civic, social and professional awareness to positively affect the community.

About 50 class members are selected from hundreds of applicants to participate in the nine-month program, which begins in October and ends in June. The class meets monthly at a different central Arkansas venue to explore topics through expert speakers, panelists, tours and group presentations.

"It's an honor to be selected for this valuable opportunity," Birch said. "Leadership Greater Little Rock is known for this excellent program and the skills it imparts to those in the community. I'm particularly happy to be a part of the program's silver anniversary class."

Since 1985, Leadership Greater Little Rock has graduated more than 1,100 community leaders from its training program, including an Arkansas Secretary of State, President Pro Tempore of the Arkansas Senate, a university president, and two chamber chairmen.

Birch joined Arkansas Business in 2000 and has since led the niche publishing company's efforts online, including development of ArkansasBusiness.com and other company Web sites. In 2004, Birch launched FLEX360, Arkansas Business' Web design subsidiary, which provides Web design, application development and search engine optimization services for businesses, nonprofits and publishing companies throughout the country.

Before joining Arkansas Business, Birch was a business analyst for Alltel Information Services from 1997-2000. Before that, he worked as a treasury analyst for Fairfield Communities Inc. and an internal auditor for Boatmen's Bancshares Inc.

A 1993 graduate of the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville, Birch was a four year letterman for the baseball Razorbacks and played on the Southwest Conference championship team in 1990.
