FLEX360 sponsored Matt Roberts picks up two wins

April 8, 2009

Professional tennis player, former Razorback and Little Rock native Matt Roberts won his singles and doubles matches in the opening round of the St. Vincent New Outlook Men's Professional Tennis tournament at Pleasant Valley Country Club.

Matt Roberts - Professional TennisIn the morning, as the #8 seed, Roberts racked up a win over former BYU star Nima Roshan of Australia, 7-6, 7-6 to advance to round 2 of the 2009 USTA Pro Circuit Futures tour event.   Tuesday afternoon, Matt and former Razorback teammate Adrians Zguns of Latvia came out on top over #617 Marcus Fugate (USA) and Roshan in doubles action, 6-7, 7-6, 10-7.

Matt is currently ranked #541 in the world (not bad considering just about every country on the planet plays tennis) and is just starting his 2009 season with hopes of improving that ranking to graduate to the next step.  Matt's Adidas tennis apparel features the FLEX360 logo on either sleeve and we are proud to contribute to his goal of making the ATP tour.  You never know, we might catch Matt against Nadal or Federer one day.

The Little Rock tour stop is hosted at Pleasant Valley Country Club and is the oldest running event on the USTA Pro Circuit tour.  Proceeds benefit the St. Vincent New Outlook Cancer Recovery program.  The Futures tour event brings in players from all over the world trying to climb the ladder in men's professional tennis.

Good luck Matt!
