November 10, 2005
FLEX360, the Little Rock-based Web development firm, announced this week that it had launched a redesigned version of TheRep.org for the Arkansas Repertory Theatre. The easy-to-navigate site features secure online ticket sales, searchable archives and up-to-date information on upcoming shows and special events.Patrons can visit the site to find information on current productions, such as production photo galleries, actor biographies and photos, cast lists, and resident and guest artistic staff member biographies. Event listings are easily accessed from the interactive calendar on the home page. The site uses The Rep's popular custom-designed show art and captivating photography."It was a thrill to design and program this site," FLEX360 Creative Director Brent Birch said. "The Rep's Web site gave us the chance to stretch our wings creatively and create some wonderful Flash effects. At the same time, we loved being able to support this nonprofit cultural institution cultivate its membership and attract new audiences to its shows."Becca Gardner, the Rep's director of marketing and public relations, said the organization was "very pleased" with the work FLEX360 did on the re-design."The team is fast, reliable and available throughout the entire process," Gardner said. "We have a new, clean look for our patrons, steady traffic and regular reporting; it's been a good experience!""We're excited to offer this new online resource, which not only benefits our patrons, but also our actors and staff members, members of the media and our community partners," said Robert Hupp, the Rep's producing artistic director. "The new site allows our patrons to purchase tickets online in a secure environment while catching up on the latest Rep news."The site also features a site search, staff directory and board of directors list. New information about The Rep's long-running educational programs, outreach programs and volunteer opportunities are also online. The homepage-based news section offers updates on productions, auditions, workshops, events and more. An updated e-newsletter system will send patrons Rep news directly to their e-mail accounts with links back to the site for in-depth information. Along with ticket sales, online donations are also secure transactions. One of the most exciting aspects of the new site is the addition of a searchable, online archive system."We often get questions from patrons about previous productions or particular actors, so the plan is to work back through The Rep's 30-year history and provide details about previous seasons and productions that can be accessed through an archive page or site search," Gardner said. "We'll be working over the next year to add all of our archive material online."For media, the site features a newsroom with archived press releases and a FTP site where editors can download high-resolution images.Whether it's purchasing a subscription or ticket, reading up on a favorite actor or browsing through photographs from previous productions, 24 hour-a-day access to The Rep is just a click away.
